The charity organization accepts donations for kids, such as youth sized clothing, cash donations, or other things. They also have clothing drives, where they call people in advance on a certain street, asking them if they can have any clothes ready for them when they drive by to pick them up as donations.
Any family or individual is able to donate clothes to the organization at any time if the clothes are in sustainable condition and are clean. The Organization also accepts cash donations. Their plan for 2013 is to have helped 100 000 children.
Big Brothers and Sisters has corporate partnerships to increase awareness and gain publicity to garner more charitable donations to their cause. Celebrity charity golf tournaments are planned, and individuals, along with companies are allowed to mail in donations. The charity organization uses around 70% of the total donations made to them to help increase the awareness in kids and help prepare them for adulthood.
When I went on the organization's official website, it did not have the proper information, or how to contact them. I proceeded to call the number for the National bureau; however, they did not have specific provincial statistics, only national statistics. For this reason, I was not able to get all the information required.
After much more searching, I found the number for the Nova Scotia Big Brothers and Sisters bureau. I was able to gain the information I did not have about the charity, and I was happy to learn that the youth volunteer section is currently active and welcoming anybody who wants to help out.
