This article is designed to shed a little light on the way things are in this country, because I don’t approve of it. Now I read that and though what nerve that’s what they do every year. Attach any kind of name you want to it its still panhandling. And being that I use to work for the Salvation Army as a counselor I have seen firsthand how these people live. They have nice houses, cars, clothes, furniture, etc. I do understand that people should be paid for their efforts.
They live way better than the people donating the money, clothes, food, etc. Usually the better stuff goes to the stores and the rest is given away to them in need. The interfaith shelter in Jackson, Michigan is another rip off organization. I remember back in the 80’s the owner’s nephew use to take all the furniture, TV’s, and such that were donated for people that didn’t have anything and put them in his apartment houses. I also remember that the owner was on the board of directors for catholic social services, and people would bring in money for catholic social services. And if you went to catholic social services they almost always said we don’t have any funds. Yet they live better than the patrons usually. And they also made they’re residents do 2 hours labor every day to pay for their stay, which is fine I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the resident’s that were paying to stay there, were forced to do the 2 hours on top of giving them money. Also when they got people in there that had trade skills, they would make them use their skills fixing or repairing the several houses besides the shelter they owned.
Something I don’t understand is why a shelter that has income from several houses they own would even need the government’s aid to operate.
Did you know that charities, or nonprofit only have to apply 10% of the donation to the cause and they can keep the rest? It should be the other way around, no wonder no one has any money to help those in need, they’re keeping 80% of it. And that is nothing more than a sanctioned scam.
Let’s talk about churches for a moment, they’re big business too.
They take in tons of money, clothing and food every month, yet they rarely have funds to help anyone. Unless of course you’re a member and attend regularly, so in effect you have to earn the help they might be able to afford you. The Mormon Church is completely self sufficient, I don’t have a whole lot of gripes with them, other than they have the ability to help people but won’t generally if you’re not a member. The decision to help someone or turn them down is completely the bishop’s call as so dictated by the church. Before they erect a church it’s completely paid for, land, building, labor etc. Most churches abuse the funds they’re entrusted with.
On to the great and not so wonderful government, there was time in this country that when you saw a police officer in your rear view mirror you felt safe. Now because of the ticket quotas and felonious stops, they make us nervous. Our state has been saying their broke, but the other week Jackson county Michigan, approved the animal shelter for 1.3 million dollars to build a new shelter.
The citizens are taxed to death, and then were asked to donate and donate and donate. While they sit back and collect, want to know where all your money is going, it’s going right into their pockets. And yes they may say look were doing this with it, I think I would be asking to see the numbers. Because I can almost guarantee those numbers won’t be right. So while you sit at home doing whatever, and your guy is out in the drive fixing your car, or your gal is making you frozen dinners they are sitting back in a 5 star restaurant eating with your hard earned money. And former presidents, why do we have to keep paying them after we basically fire them? Is your employer going to keep paying you if fires you? I think not, they should have been saving those thousands of dollars, for what they know is coming sooner or later.
And I leave you with this, if you think the government, charities, or churches really care about you your mistaken, it’s that almighty dollar they’re after, so dig deep bend over and hold on because unless people start standing up to these organizations this is the position you, and your children will become accustomed too.
