Help Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage celebrate their 35th Birthday by adopting one of their animals.

Situated outside the city of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Chipangali is a haven for wild animals which have little hope for survival in the wild – creatures which have been orphaned, abandoned, injured, born in captivity or brought up unsuccessfully as pets. It is often the last refuge for those brought in sick or injured, and increasingly it is a sanctuary for confiscated animals. Once they are nursed back to health and are old enough to survive independently, the animals are released back into the wild in any of the numerous wildlife reserves in the area.
It is not a zoo and is not run for financial gain.
Their aim is to try and get 350 people to adopt animals – 10 for every year of Chipangali’s existence. Please visit the Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage website for full details about how you can go about adopting one of the animals for yourself or perhaps as a gift for someone. Please note that due to poor internet accessibility in Zimbabwe,it may take some time for a reply to be sent back to you.
Due to the current situation in Zimbabwe tourist numbers have dropped. Since people who dropped in and donated money or food were the only source of Chipangali’s income for the past 35 years, the Orphanage has had to resort to online sites for donations and to setting its animals up for adoption in order to continue the Orphanage’s work. Chipangali also has a Facebook group, Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage. Please join it if you are on Facebook and would like to help this cause, or just keep tabs on your favourite critters.
