Global Warming

Global warming is becoming more and more of a big deal.

It's getting hotter. Steam is rising all around you! Sweat pours from your glands in an uncontrollable flood. No your not in a boiler room. That's just an extreme case of global warming!

Okay, so the problem isn't that bad, yet, but if allowed to escalate, it very well could be. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the trend in the rising temperatures over the years. There's a thousand arguments why it's not getting hotter, but there are just as many to support the facts.

If a scientist tells you that "there has always been fluctuations in the Earth's climate" you could simply retort, "true, but humans weren't around to worsen the condition. Although it is scientifically true that the earth has seen a number of temperature changes through the ages, it's also true that there was supposedly never a human population around to contribute to the staggering amount of green house carbons which insist on trapping extra heat in our atmosphere.

Let's take that thought and run with it, the amount of pollution which we humans emit increases regularly from year to year. As our numbers and technology grow, so does our pollution output. To worsen the fact, we cut down limitless tracts of forests, a key factor in recycling green house gases into more friendlier substances. We also are dirtying our oceans, the main source of oxygen for our planet. I don't know about you, but the picture that's being painted for me is one which portrays someone with their head stuck in a fish bowl, with a hot light shining on it, and no air flow. Quite uncomfortable.

That's why we need to take a step back, and really see the problem before us. If we don't stop this pending crisis now, we will leave the mess for our children to clean up, or die from. But don't let me sound all gloom and doom. It's not the end of the world, yet.

You may feel helpless, but you can start making a difference now! It's as easy as:

  • Recycle:

We've been saying it for years, it really does help!
  • Drive Less:

Car pool, walk to work, use your bike, there has got to be some way to lower the amount of gas you consume.
  • Plant a Tree:

So many trees get cut down today it makes me sad, but if you just plant a tree, water, tend it, watch it grow, that is one tree that you can insure will be there for the future.
  • Tell a Friend:

Many hands make light work. Just think of the impact it would make if an entire community was helping to keep the world pollution free!

There you have it in a nutshell. Start working today to clean up our planet and make it a cleaner brighter tomorrow. Be creative in how you save the world, but just do it!

Huh, that's really thought provoking! A bit over the top, but hey, it works.

Tell me, have you been around for a thousand years? Because if you had been, you would realize that the global temperature has been fluctuating up and down for as long as there has been time. I wish people would see the huge cash cow that "global warming" is creating for people like Al Gore and others of his ilk, and would quit giving them the publicity they thrive on.

Were billions of humans with their smog creating cars, air polluting factories, and wasteful selves around for those thousand years? Also no! And flucutaion does not mean doubling in a short period of time like we are doing, it means, slowly, over millenia, giving species time to adapt. And should we strive for a cleaner atmosphere anyway? it's only killing us faster.
