It is so strange that when we have a real problem and that it threatens our oh so beautiful system, we tend to diminish the problem or making it disappear by focusing on the wrong thing.
Global warming. The new baby on the block. Now the talks are out on the main real issue of our planet, the famous “Global warming”. The talk is surely not on pollution.
Only misinformed people believe this is the real issue here. Well first thing first, economics. There are many aspects of economics but a serious one is of concern here. Big companies with the support of government wanting to make more and more money and profits, cause it became for every one of them their symbol of evolution and progress, create more pollution and misuse of land, killing of thousands of animal and plants species. They go on and on making profit the real meaning of their existence while creating more and more pollution, destroying more and more life. On top of it, to make matter worse, they are asking us to do something about it, like use your car but don't pollute, recycle everything while we produce more useless things for you to buy and not possible to recycle.
Here in Quebec , they are asking us to reduce our consumption of electricity so they can have more to sell to the US . Big money, at least much more then what they get from us. For this they want to build more dams, destroy more forest and animal habitats just to get more and more electricity to sell the US . What a perfect sense of evolution they got.
Temperature is rising
Now it is so easy to talk about global warming and come up with so many theories about it. The latest one is from Mr. Kofi Annan himself saying:” … but how will altering human activity halt climate change when the evidence clearly indicates that the sun itself and not SUV's is heating up the entire solar system?” Good now we don't need to worry about polluting.
According to the NASA and Space.com, all the planets in our system are undergoing temperature rise and Associated Press Study reveals that our sun is getting hotter. Solar radiations are 0.036% warmer then in 1986.
They found the guilty one, the sun. He is the cause of the global warming on the planet. Not the pollution, not the disrespect of our environment in every possible ways. OK, now that we know why it is getting hot here, all companies and government can peacefully go on destroying and polluting cause it is not their fault if the ice cap is melting.
Few, we can all sleep well tonight. We almost were left with the feeling we did something wrong and that we should change our automatic behaviour of destroying more then creating and caring.
God is dead…but money is real.
Profit is our motivation and that is the economic aspect of the problem. A little deeper is the human aspect of the problem. Our values are wrong in the first place, but we surely don't want to confront that, no, because that means losing profit and not serving our first priority in life, making money to survive in a world where money is now the real God. It is real and what makes it real is that in our world we cannot live without money but we can easily live without respect, caring, conscience and love. In our world, we cannot live without money but we can surely live without God.
