If you're reading this, you're probably thinking of taking some drastic measures to make your voice heard. Going on strike is pretty drastic, but you'll need to be prepared to go without wages for a while. You'll also need a strong person to be your leader, someone who won't back down easily and can draw publicity to your cause.
It's best if as many of you go on strike as possible. It's also good if the company you are working for is reasonably well known, and will attract a lot of publicity in the newspapers and such. Figure out the most effective ways to harm the company, stage mass marches and rallies before the strike. You've got to get thousands of people involved in sit-downs inside and outside the building. Explain to locals around the area why the strike is happening and what the injustices perpetrated by your company are.
Educate unemployed and immigrant workers, (if the company has hired some to take your place)about why they should join the strike, though there may be language barriers. Get local farmers and grocers to supply food.
Ask doctors and nurses sympathetic to your cause to supply free medical care for injured workers. Contact newspapers and television studios about the strike.
If any workers are injured on the strike or on premises of the company, suing is a good idea as it raises publicity, gets you money, highlights how far the company is prepared to go to silence you, and will convince the company you are serious. And what the heck, it makes a great story. Last of all, be prepared for violence, intimidation, arrests and insults.
