Love Animals

Why are animals killed ruthlessly? It answers. It talks about animal rights and the responsibility of human being?

Liberty is given by nature even to mute animals." Tacitus
One day, a big black cat, all of a sudden, crossed the street while my friend and I were on our way to Gausala on foot.

Without any delay, my friend picked up a stone and hurled at it and pronounced the very word "bad luck". He not only postponed the plan of heading to Gausala for the special purpose but also made the cat severely maimed. The cat merely mewed and what I was watching was bleeding from head.

The cat was almost gored to death. The cat disappeared but I didn't know whether the cat died or survived. This is a minor incident that I witnessed but there are dozens of such incidents that have been taking place, directly or indirectly where the lives of many creatures are at risk.

The plight is more pathetic and painful. This is all because of encroaching humans, which has brought the lives of animals on the verge of extinction.

Nevertheless, the incident reminds me that many pet animals have been tortured and killed for no proper reason. Many of them have become the victims of superstitious belief. Just take for instance, more than 40,000 bulls are killed every year in the bull-fight in the world. Many animals are used as guinea pig. Around ten million animals are butchered worldwide per year for human consumption and appeasement.

Thousands of buffaloes, goats and chickens are brought into Kathmandu from different parts of the country in such a ruthless way that many of them get severely wounded before they reach Kathmandu and some of them lose their lives on the way.

Every year, thousands of animals are given up to appease Gods and goddesses in the name of Panchabali - sacrifice of five different creatures such as pigs, buffaloes, goats, roosters and rats.

God has made man powerful of all creatures. But that does not mean that we can behave with animals the way we like. Animals also feel soreness when beaten just like us. The only difference is that we can express, complain, communicate, and they cannot.

Cruelty towards the animals is a boastful manner. If we love them, we understand their emotion, needs and affinity. We have to stop the violence against animals.

Animals too understand the language of love and empathy. Animals being loyal and affable play a vital role for human existence as well. And how human treats them determines the existence of the whole universe.

Let me raise the query: "Who is going to speak for those mute animals who can't speak for themselves? Love animals. They are our forefathers.
