Mysterious Oil Pipelines

News on the recent pipeline from the Caspian to the Mediterranean.

What about mysterious pipelines being built around the world to avoid hotspots? Isn't the world supposed to be getting away from oil anyway? But those regions are not in themselves free of potential turmoil. The country of Georgia has its internal tensions for example, with ethnic groups rivaling one another and Turkey has its Kurds who would love to use the pipeline as a means of gaining attention.

The fact is that if one mysterious pipeline is being built from the Caspian to a Turkish seaport and through some mountainous areas, other pipelines are probably being built yet the consumer is being fed the notion of the need to use less fossil fuel time and time again. Looks like to put a lid on this kind of exploration, which is no doubt providing employment would be a heavy task indeed. Much of our industry is still oil dependant and even if I would like to think of our country going green, I am aware of endless deals being made to drill for oil away from current hotspots. In the meantime the pipeline, which was supposed to take three years to build and run from the Caspian port of Baku to a Turkish seaside port has probably been completed much to the unawareness of the citizens around.

It would contain enough steel to build half a million cars and run three feet below the surface so as to be undetectable. I wonder about the location of service roads to the oil pipeline that should be there if one is going to repair any natural damages to its infrastructure. Are those service roads also top secret? In the meantime I laud further experiments being done on the research behind solar powered cars like one prototype recently assembled at the University of Sherbrooke.
