This is the slogan of immigrant solidarity. In truth, if you know the history of human, we're all immigrants from somewhere, and throughout history, we have had to assert our human beingness.
This assertion of human beingness continues throughout the world and through out every civilization, whether we are dealing with the spiritual history of humanity or the secular history of humanity.
No Human is Illegal/No Hay Ser Humano Illegal should not just be the phrase for a limited group of immigrants or those in US-Mexican Solidaridad, but it should be the phrase of immigrants everywhere.
Some who study the human genome claim that we all have our origins on the African continent. There is no reason not to believe this, and certainly blacks are all over the African diaspora, including blacks among the Latino/Latina people, even though many go unrecognized and have not claimed the great roles they should have, although now and again there are many articles on this question and this problem.
Nevertheless, whether this is scientific truth or scientific theory, then we're all immigrants and/or we are all the descendents of immigrants.
And almost all societies and peoples have stories of their immigration from somewhere, whether they immigrate as free peoples or slave peoples.
This slogan of immigrant solidarity should be known to everybody. And whenever we need a call for solidarity we can say this call for solidarity among the great historical calls for solidarity.
No Human is Illegal/No Hay Ser Humano Illegal.
Let us all remember this great call of solidaridad as we remember all of the other great calls of solidaridad.
