We hope that you're happy, Mr. President. Within the eight years given to you by the American people, you've managed to obliterate an entire nation, squander the lives of over 3000 military members, vandalize the Constitution, which they fought for, and, while you were at it, you decided to alienate followers of a peaceful religion. "Mission: Accomplished", indeed…Now, I think it's the time when you slip into that little flight-suit of yours and fly off into outer-space. We can handle things from here.
This president was Frankenstein minus the "Dr." and his successive regime will be his monster. Taking the power back will be a hard road and it will require a lot more than torches and pitchforks to kill this thing.
Iraq is over, America's resources are spread thin, and its government has recentralized itself. This is a familiar scenario in an unfamiliar world, so it will be difficult to adjust to this unjust climate, but there is still hope to be found in the youth of the nation.
Time can heal many things, but it cannot heal the scars of injustice. Healing is a process, which, we must inherit as the next generation of America, so it is now our responsibility to right the wrongs of our national history. However, without acknowledging these mistakes, despite our indirect fault, these scars will never fade.
There must be political involvement, on our part, in order to enact any significant changes. Without this involvement, we are but the proverbial lambs waiting for the slaughter. If we expect to get anything done with the power whores in charge, we may have to resort to some rather frowned-upon methods of activism, but that is our right as Americans, as opposed to what the current police state tells us.
Legislation has limited our capacities to communicate with one another, but lucky for us, we have technology on our side. Deprived of our full freedoms to speak or to assemble, our generation is still able to meet over the government no-man's land known as the World Wide Web; And, without a doubt, keeping the internet free of government regulation is vitally important to preserving our civil liberties.
Without communication, we cannot rightly know who we are as a people, and if we haven't an identity, then our voice will never be recognizable to the government. So, it is important that we like-minded individuals come together on the same page. Unity and solidarity are key factors in the fight to restore our freedom.
No matter what you are told…never shut up! Even if your voice is squelched out beyond reckoning, know that you are an inherently defiant American and that your voice will never be silenced. Mark the walls of bathroom stalls and collect calls in shopping malls. Speak up or never be heard.
Our future isn't certain, but our present is being laid in stone, so it's up to decide what that stone will look like. Will it repeat its pattern over and over again, until it is chiseled into dust? Or, will it be engraved with the letters of our names and stories? Will we let ourselves become victims of an endless historical cycle or become legends in history books? It's our choice, our road, our America. Let's take the power back.
