This statement should go without question; of course clean water is a basic human right. To think otherwise is surely insane and shows a complete lack of common sense. Man can not live by bread alone; he must have water, clean, safe water and plenty of it. Without it man will surely die.
Being that water is essential to all life, all living things, both animal and plant and none shall live without it, at least not for very long, it surely stands to reason that clean water is indeed a basic human right, the right of all living things, not just human. Man can survive for approximately seven days without any food but take away water and man will die in as few as three or less days. Water is essential to life. What is essential for life to exist is a living right. The only element taken away that will kill you more quickly is to take away your air; air, water, food, shelter, the very basic necessities of life and these things should be the right of every living thing including humans.
Without clean water to drink, cook with and bathe in, the human will become very ill and in a big hurry; no matter what country you live in. This is most evident in most of our third world countries today however where millions of people die every year for lack of this one basic essential; clean, safe water but it is not entirely limited to the third world nations. It is becoming more and more widespread around the globe every year. All around the globe people are being told boil your water, buy bottled water, your water is not safe. Bottled water has become a commodity and even fashionable and it is becoming more and more expensive to buy. That is pathetic and only highlights the greed and gluttony of the world economy. Every human being should have the right to clean safe water without having to run down to the local supermarket to get a drink. Unfortunately it appears that is the way the world is headed and a few corporate heads are going to get rich so you and I can stay healthy and alive.
Without clean water to drink, cook and bathe in humans can not survive. Lack of clean water, enough to drink prevents the body from purifying itself and bacterial and viral infections soon stampede through our bodies. People dehydrate. Dehydration affects all parts of the body but almost immediately affects the kidneys, liver, heart, lungs, the intestines and the brain. You can't even think without water.
Diseases like dysentery, cholera, typhoid, gastro-intestinal viruses, salmonella and diarrhea are all caused by polluted water and they can be deadly and spread like wildfire. They are contagious. If a person infected by any one of these diseases is not treated immediately and able to keep clean, get water to drink, the disease can spread to even the presently healthy individual. A healthy individual caring for the ill one or just someone exposed to the body fluids of a person who has one of these diseases will pick up the bacteria and become ill themselves. It doesn't take long once there is an outbreak of any of these diseases before it becomes epidemic.
Clean water is essential to the prevention and cure of these deadly diseases. These diseases cause multiple millions of deaths every year, particularly among infants and the elderly with a high percentage of these deaths occurring in our third world nations but no nation is unaffected. The problem is spreading around the globe as more and more of the Earth's water supply becomes more and more polluted and unsuitable for human use. The cause, negligence by the human race. We are signing our own death warrant and we will surely die. We can not survive without clean, safe water.
Much of the pollution that now makes our water unsafe comes from factory waste and human and animal waste that is dumped into or leeched into our ocean, rivers, lakes and streams where the water evaporates, condenses and comes down again as acid rain, polluted water polluting the land, our fields, forest, plants; the very living things that provide the air we breathe and they die. Without them we can not survive. We will have no air to breathe. Pollution has become a vicious and deadly cycle.
Clean, safe water is a basic human need. It is a matter of life and death. Clean water therefore becomes a basic right for all people, for all living things. Water is not a commodity, a luxury, a want alone; water is a necessity. Having sustainable, clean, safe water should be the right of every living being without consideration of origin or social standing. Without water we all will surely die, if not personally of thirst we will die from some deadly contagious disease spread by another who is dying of thirst for lack of clean, safe water.
Clean water and clean air are without question the most priceless resources on the face of the Earth and the greatest of all essential elements of life. Is it our right to have clean water?
Of course it is if we expect the human race to survive. Having sustainable, clean safe water should be the right of every living thing including we the people of planet Earth.
