Imagine a world without wildlife. It will be very dull. This is the harsh reality we will face in the next few years if we go on killing the animals at the current pace.
The way we treat our wildlife is very sad. Animals are at the mercy of humans who unfortunately do not show any. Mighty tigers are reduced to tablets so that humans can benefit from them. Rhinoceros, elephants etc. are killed in thousands each year because of the ivory they possess in the form of horns and tusk. Deer, rabbits, birds and many other animals are considered delicacies by the rich, poachers and sahibs. They have combined to wage a war against the wildlife which is already suffering destruction of habitat because of human development.
The biblical story of Noah's arc in which animals were saved from a terrible flood has an underlying message for us. Animals are necessary for the survival of the human race. That is why they must share the planet with us. Each species has a role to play in the ecosystem. Each species is an important link in the food chain and if broken it could lead to terrible problems for the ecosystem. Yet, man is continuously killing animals, the world over driving them to extinction.
