Can One Person Ever Make a Difference in a World of Six Billion?

You are unique and you can make the difference! Find the great cause that inspires you and fires you up: determine to make the change. Believe you can achieve and draw like minded people to you. You really can stand out.

Can it really be possible? Can you think of any human being who has stood out above the multitude? Made a difference? Left a legacy of hope and love and action?

I nominate Mother Theresa, Sir Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Fry, Edith Cavell, Octavia Hill, Benjamin D'Israeli, Yehudi Menuhin, Roy Castle, Sue Ryder, Helen Keller, Ralph Emerson, Claude Monet, Arthur Rubinstein, Marie Curie, Gandhi, to name but a few. Not all saints, but all men and women of resolve!

And you too can have great resolve! Your life need not succumb to the level of a second rate soap opera! You can let your aspirations and your spirit soar above temporal problems! Take time out to think of what really impresses you in life. With whose problems do you most empathize? What in this world would you most like to change? Whom would you most like to become?

Whatever motivates you, whatever emotionally challenges you, whatever inspires you, YOU CAN make the difference! You can gather around you a body of like minded individuals! You can start a charity, you can fund raise for an existing charity you truly empathize with.

Make a new habit to read the life stories of inspiring men and women who lived in a difficult world but would never say die, never give up, never surrender! Because what they achieved, you can! Just believe! You are unique. You are special! You are put here on this planet to be yourself to the best of your abilities! You already stand out from the crowd - propel yourself forward today! And every day from now on!

Allow your innermost being to be gripped by the excitement of a great cause, whatever you believe in, wherever you see a need. And pursue that inspiration and daily ask yourself "How will I achieve this: what are my first steps now?" Seek those steps and tread them! Never look back, never regret: one life, live it! Be the absolute best you can! But above all, have a greater cause than your own immediate pressing problems for which you fight.

This is how I define motivation! To fight for a greater cause, whatever fires you up! Be fired up! Fire up others around you. Network on and offline with people who feel as you do and get together and determine to make the difference, come what may! You will begin to live life on purpose: your purpose that excites, inspires, motivates you! Wow, that is exciting!

So I encourage you now, believe you can do it: others have. If not you, then who? There is a cause waiting for a deliverer, let it be you! Find your passion and move mountains! Nothing can ever stand in your way long: you are unstoppable, so go! Believe that one person has unlimited power in this world to create whatever they want! Create solutions and let come what may. You will be the stronger for your resolve. Each new day dawns smiling upon the happiness of your soul! Make a happiness for others too, this day forward!
