Do not be afraid of failure
We have been taught pretty much all our lives that “failure is not an option,” failure is a bad thing, it is something extremely negative. We are taught that on our homes, our schools, our community and at our work, but things are changing. As time has gone on, this is what I have come to realize and know for sure; failure is okay.
One of my favorite quotes is from Walt Disney, a man I admire very much because he had big dreams and believed in them, he said “Around here (Disney company), however we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things because we're curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” That quote was displayed at the end of the Disney movie “Meet the Robinsons,” which is a fantastic movie for kids because the message within the movie is about celebrating failure. Failure is just finding another way that does not work; therefore it can be considered a success. Besides you always learn more from when you fail than from when you succeed. You take those mistakes, you learn from them and you try again and the next time when you do succeed it's going to be bigger and even better.
So the point I'm trying to make here is that it is okay for failure to occur and that we should not dwell upon it. Obviously most people do not intentionally set out to fail, but sometimes it is something that cannot be avoided. So as human beings we pick ourselves back up and we “keep moving forward.”
