Workaholics are people who work for more than twelve hours in a day. They are basically those who make their office their home. All of their day is spent at work. They practically live in the comforts of their office.
Sleep is the only break a workaholic can have aside from going to and from work, of course. But not at all times though. Workaholics find ways to bring their work home making sleep the last option.
What makes them workaholic?
The best thing that makes one workaholic is because they want to work for their families. They want to provide them food, shelter and anything extra that they can afford. They work hard to give their families a good and worry-free life. Sometimes they are driven to work for reasons of not wanting their family to experience what they have been through when they were still young. The only irony of thinking to work hard for the family is neglecting and forgetting their families because they are tied up at work.
Tips to Lessen Being a Workaholic
Treat Work at Work
It's simple. Just as homework is called homework because it is done at home, so is work called work because it is meant to be done at work. Keeping work at the office is where it is meant to be. Never take work at home unless necessary, just don't overdo it.
Days Off
Normally, people work six times a week. Use days or day off wisely. It is for you to take some time off work. Treat yourself during non-working days or spent them with your family.
Burn Out
The only time workaholics stop working is when they burn out. Burn out affects workaholics because it sometimes leads to poor quality of work and strings of absences. You might end up losing your job instead of keeping it. Make sure to work an average work day, not your average work day.
