Going on a bus tour is not to everyone's taste, but for those who want to leave their car behind and let someone else do the driving for a change, it can come as a welcome relief. But bus tours have their disadvantages too and one of the greatest of these is putting up with other passengers who are rude and inconsiderate of others around them. Read on to find out how to cope with rude passengers on a bus tour.

Change Seats

If you find yourself sitting close to rude passengers on a tour bus, you can hardly get off the bus and avoid their company altogether, but you can usually change seats so that you are not subjected to the antics of rude bus passengers. Meeting on a bus tour and then spending a whole day with people you do not know should not excite too much attention as you change seats to a more comfortable location.

Do Not Engage in Prolonged Conversation

Rude bus passengers are easy to spot. They are loud, voice their opinions at the expense of others and expect people to cater to them for the duration of the bus tour. But rather than feed this negative attitude, you can do much to avoid engaging yourself by not getting into any prolonged conversation with a rude bus passenger to begin with. If you join in a conversation with them, you might find that the passenger tries to change your attitude about the bus driver, other passengers or another subject that you would rather steer clear of. At least if you keep your conversation limited with any rude passengers you come across, you will not find yourself drawn into another person's complaints and accusations against others. That will only sour the bus tour and make you long for the end of the tour so you can get away from the rude passengers.

Counter the Bad Attitude With The Good

There will always be passengers that go on a tour who will find something to complain about. As far as that is concerned, there is very little you can do to change a person's attitude. But rather than be drawn into complaints about how the bus driver was late or the young mother with a baby could not stop her baby from crying, try to counter this negativity with positive comments about the bus tour. Even when things have not gone according to plan and there is a legitimate reason to complain, the tour will be more of a success if you have found positive aspects to focus attention on.

A bus tour can be ruined by rude, inconsiderate passengers. But the way you behave and your attitude can still help to ensure that the bus tour is not completely ruined.
