Academics have written numerous articles about it. Religions have
embraced it as if it is the last forbidden fruit of eden. To have a share
of the piece of the pie, Hollywood have also cashed on the phenomenon.
"Searching for true happiness". We, humans, had searched far and wide to
define what true happiness is. Some turning to religion as a solution,
others taking the materialistic option. Nevertheless, the search seems
endless.
I for one, have my own theory of the search for true happiness which
originates from the words, "ones own reasoning".
I believe that when one had found true happiness, what one refers to is
that they are totally at peace with them self, which ultimately makes
one feel at peace with the environment they live in. The question is,
"what does one have to do to make one feel at peace with oneself?"
Answer: Ones Own Reasoning
Take for instance, if I happen to see an incident and someone else
comes along and said "this is why it happened". If my mind does not
sit right with his/her reasoning, that would create more uncertainty and
questions for me. However, if I make my own reason for that particular
incident, this would make me feel more at peace with what happened.
In other words, within a split second or more, I had reached a sense of
"true happiness" because a whole lot of thought processes had gone into
my reasoning.
Next time you are troubled by what happened out there (which you have no
control over), practice the art of "reasoning". This will make you feel
more at peace with your own conscience and your own mind. Do not let
someone else create the reason for you because you may or, in most cases,
may not be totally happy with it.
