All of us have an inbuilt fear that either inspires us to achieve major feats in life or makes it difficult to accomplish anything. Many people are driven to great accomplishments by a fear that is lurking somewhere in them. The difference between achievers and non achievers is that the former have mastered their fear and move forward in-spite of the fears they have. For the non achievers, they are frozen into the present as they are too fearful to move forward.
Thus to move forward despite having fear, you need to deliberately focus your mind on the task to be accomplished. You should therefore create a habit to think better thoughts which lead to confidence and the self-trust you need to pursue your mission effectively. Therefore confront your fears by training your mind to focus on:
- Positive outcomes and take action rather than freezing in inaction
- Self belief and ability to accomplish the task without worrying about your opponents or others are competing with you
- Trust yourself to act in the best interest of yourself
- Rely on your core values and move decisively forward so as to give no chance to fear to build up
- Focus on the present task and stop imagining anything negative
- Visualize the successful outcomes of your endeavor rather than what you fear will go wrong. Do not give fear a foothold in what you plan to do.
- The confidence that whatever the outcome, you will not be any worse off than your present circumstances. As a matter of fact, you have nothing to lose but everything to gain if you succeed in the mission.
