If you have a job, need to keep it and have the opportunity to do that, then concentrate on the things you love about it because the things you think about multiply. Wouldn't you rather experience more of the things you love about your job than the things you hate? Fill your days with gratitude for your job.
The loss of a job can be devastating but opportunities are all around you; just have courage to look around, get ready and seize them.
The loss of a job is an opportunity to think about what you love to do more than anything else. Find people who need that service or product and find a way to do that for a living. It sounds simple and it is. You just need courage to take risks to get to where you want to be. Take it slowly; one-step at a time.
If you don't have the knowledge to do what you love to do for a living then consider going to college to get the training you need. While you are in college, take a low-level position at a company that does what you love to do. Watch for advancement opportunities to open up as your education allows. You will be right there in the building when the announcements go up on the board about new positions opening up and you will be around the kind of work you enjoy.
Here are a few steps to make the process easier
- Pick a goal. What would like to do for a living? Must be something you love doing. You could do this all day every day: all daylong.
- List all the things you can do to make this happen. Making calls, writing and sending resumes, signing up for classes, researching the job market, contacting friends and acquaintances; they may know where you can find a job that you would like and whom to call, etc.). Break these things into small parts that you can do in 15 minutes.
- Choose one task to complete each day and spend at least 15 minutes doing it. If you want to continue doing this longer than 15 minutes, do so. The next day choose something else to do. If you cannot choose, cut the list into small pieces, put them into a jar, each day pick one without looking.
- Keep a journal of all the things you have done and look for positive results.
- Listen to upbeat music. Visualize yourself in your perfect job with a big smile on your face.
Remember, you can accomplish anything 15 minutes at a time. If you do this every day, your task becomes manageable and soon you will manifest what you want.
