I have never met anyone who did not want to change something about them selves. If it was not the hair, it was the color of the eyes. If it wasn't the nose it was the body. Most of us grew up in households where we were not told how beautiful or special we were. Those of us that come from the old school our parents were to busy trying to keep food in the icebox and a roof over our heads. So as time went by and we got older, we were still looking at that person that never ever once feel good about themselves, apparently no one ever told you how beautiful, intelligent or how smart you really were.
I find that more people have issues with the way they look, the way they eat, the way they walk and talk, even the way the look at themselves in the mirror. Where does it all end?
We have to start somewhere knowing that we are whom we are, and we are the only ones that can change what's going on inside of our heart and souls. Before there was make up, or add in hair and nails. We went on business as usual. We looked in the mirror and brush our hair in that one big ponytail and went on about our business. Some of this modern daily issue we have with ourselves we bring them into our adult relationships, then we pass them down to our children and our children's children. Not loving ourselves is a terrible cycle that needs to be broken or cut up into small pieces where it can not be fixed and show back up in our lives.
In order to start loving ourselves the way no one else can. Get a mirror that you can put up on the wall of your choice. Then make it a point to visit that mirror every time them old habits of not loving yourself seems to come around. Make it known that self-hate does not live here anymore. Know that you are beautiful from the inside out, and keep telling yourself what you want to hear. First you must believe and secondly know that you know you best. It is the heart, soul and spirit that signatures our true beauty and love for self.
Love yourself, the way no one else with.
