Have you ever been so down and out feeling like no one could ever understand what you're feeling right now? Then all of a sudden someone, maybe even a complete stranger will start telling you about something that they're going through and been through and you begin to feel comforted.
You've been encouraged and uplifted, with a boost of energy to keep going forward. Now hope doesn't seem impossible, you begin to walk towards finding the light at the end of the tunnel. Oh how great it is to be inspired!! Imagine being able to return the favor.
About three years ago tragedy and chaos surrounded me. I had no job, I was pregnant and not with the father, I lost my apartment, I had to live in a hotel, I couldn't even spend Christmas with my son. My best friend had even stopped speaking to me. I lost everything and everyone I was completely homeless.
There was no hope for me. I wanted to die but something in me would not let that happen. I just prayed, and I cried and one day God showed up and open doors that had been shut, made a way out of no way. Who would of thought that two years later I would be the Vice-President of a Non-Profit for women who advocate for homelessness to end, and various other issues that I had faces two years prior.
Who would of thought that I would work for a Congress Woman gaining knowledge of great leadership and educating myself on power, and control used to help the lowly. Who would of thought that I would be a member of united way helping bring awareness of what hardships people are facing and what policies and help need to be incorporated to bring about change.
I didn't understand two years prior why I had to go through that horrible experience, but now I do. Now I am able to reach back and help, and encourage, and inspire those going through what I have already overcome, who have lost hope.
I wouldn't be able to handle this responsibility without the proper training. Without experiencing for myself. I now have a passion and drive to cater to my purpose. I am a witness that you can make it if you just take it to God. He will turn your afflictions into assets for his glory.

"Reaching Back"
Reach for me; grab hold of my hand.
I've been where you are, I understand.
I've felt that pain; I know your sorrow.
Feelings of hopeless no hope for tomorrow.
I am not here to judge please put away your pride.
You need some encouragement, which I'm sure to provide.
Tribulations come about to straighten you out.
You always overcome them, yet you debate and you doubt.
God has made you in his image; he purposed your life.
He allows all the agony, pain, and strife.
You may not like it, but God knows what best.
To get to your expected end, you must endure some test.
You'll be a hope to the unstable, proof that God is able.
He'll use your life story all for his glory.
Weather this storm, the winds will cease.
God will give you everlasting peace.
One day you will realize that all your trial has made you wise.
You'll lead those that have fallen; you'll inspire them to rise.
