Reflect, Trust Your Instincts, and Multiply Your Blessings

If you feel tired, stressed out, or in need of something, your body is trying to help you out. Stop a moment and listen. Take time to really get in touch with what your intuition is telling you.

In the great rush of life today, we encounter many stressors. Traffic, schedules, bills and a wide array of other factors that can leave us feeling breathless and wondering where the day went. Within this time if you do not make time to stop and sit back to just breathe, sometimes your health can suffer.

We all need time to relax and reflect upon our day, our lives, and our thoughts. Just like you plan time for meeting a friend or exercising, you need to plan time into your schedule to spend reflecting and taking care of you. Metaphorically, when you spend positive time with yourself, it is like spending time with a best friend.

And, as you get to know yourself better, you learn to love yourself even more. This then allows you to enjoy a greater depth of appreciation for all people and things in your life.

You can only appreciate others as much as you can appreciate yourself; just as you can only treat others as good as you can treat yourself.

It is because of the above statement that spending quality time nourishing your soul and taking care of your needs is even more infinitely important and vital to your health and your enjoyment in life. And, it is especially important during the times when your spirit needs restoration.

It is important to also note that it is equally valuable to keep this idea in mind as well, during the times when you feel your best; for it is this time that like a battery, you can store and charge up your “well being” energy for those times when you are stressed to the limit or need to give more of yourself to others than you might normally need to in an average day. The unexpected is a part of life, death, illness, natural disaster are perfect examples of why it is so important to keep your “batteries” as completely charged as possible.

Reflection and taking the time to re-charge your pool of energy helps you understand why things are going the way they are, ways you can continue to improve your life, and allows you to take the time to give thanks for all the blessings in your life. When you stop to think about all the blessings in your life you simultaneously learn to appreciate them with greater depth which acts to further reinforce and solidify them as permanent fixtures in your life. And the happier you feel, the more energy you will circularly create for yourself.

In addition, you do not ever want to take the gifts in your life for granted. Taking time to reflect on them will help you avoid doing so. It will help you realize that the grass is not always greener on the other side and that when you truly appreciate what you have the joys, the gifts, and the happiness will naturally multiply before your eyes.

Take care of yourself and each other; best wishes to all.

You are so right with this, Liane. I've been through a lot of stuff, some of it unique and some of it scary or just weird, and I realized at a young age (though I'm still young) that I had to get to know myself. When I did, I found more to appreciate in others, and I learned how necessary some down time is every day. And, as always, your writing is very good, succinct and neat. Keep up the good work.
