As we grow old and closer to retirement the fear becomes stronger of stopping something we have done for many years. Most look forward to the day they can throw the alarm clock out the window, and every day becomes Friday. But as that day approaches the fear of what do I do with all the free time I will have, how do I spend my days?
The question is very easy to answer, one must keep busy . Do not become glued to the T.V. Remember this is something you have looked forward to for many years. Do not sit around waiting for something to happen, make it happen. Remember The things you always wanted to do while you were working ,but never had the time to do. Find people who are also retired make new friends.
For myself I joined a photo club, by doing this I meet many people younger older or the same age as myself. It gave me a reason to travel also made me realize that I had talent that was hidden for many years. Just look around there are many clubs, wood working, craft, stain glass, garden and the list is never ending. Find something you enjoy you owe to yourself , you have worked toward this day. You raised a family gave others much of your time, shared your life with many and now is the time to do for yourself. Remember the fear my be there but overcoming it is very easy, all one has to do is don?t wait for something to come you way go out an fined that something that will make you enjoy the rest of your days keep you busy and full of life.
