The Clear Leader

Understanding how the leader's mind functions.

One of the main things that Marcus Buckingham stated in "The Clear Leader" and I think is so true is, “mastering the disciplines of managing and leading.”

Buckingham maps out the core concepts that mark superior leadership:

  1. Leaders are compelled by the future.
  2. Turn anxiety into confidence.
  3. Be clear about whom you serve.
  4. Be clear about why you're going to win.
  5. Keep your core score.
  6. If you want to be clear, act.

True leaders have to know who they are and not let someone else define or declare who they are. They have to realize that they are a “designers original” and that there is no one else who has their DNA - they are uniquely identified. They must realize that they must stay focused - keep their eyes on the prize, on short and long term goals.

True leaders know how to turn negative adversities into building blocks, or stepping stones and stay on course in order to reach their destiny. The negative things in life propels one, if they keep trying, into a positive place because when you fail, you learn even in failing to keep trying. Because “a failure never quits and quitter never wins”.

One realizes that their true power is birthed out of their pain and adversities. You discover that no one can stile your dreams because you are in control of that and with Gods help you can be all that you were purposely intended to be. Become an independent thinker, and if you are to succeed or fail, in the final analysis, it's really up to you.

True leaders have a traceable path - steps in which they follow, or path taken -“footprints”. They know how to choose people whom they will allow into their inter-circle in life, who are making positive deposits and nuggets that are positive images and role models.

True leaders know the wisdom in not showing their vulnerabilities, because what you see is only 10% of the Iceberg the other 90% is the developing process that makes them who, and why they are who they are.

It's about mind over matter and your attitude. "The greatest discovery of any generation is that human beings can alter his/her life by altering their attitude". (William James). It's all starts in the mind.

True leaders are visionaries, dreamers, and Faith walkers.
