The Measure of Success or How to Attain Success

It isn't enough to want to succeed, it takes thought and planning with strength and determination.

For some people attaining the height of success comes easily. For some it is determination and hard work, perhaps never reaching the ultimate goal they set out for and unfortunately there are some people who have had failure simply because of fear to go ahead. The biography's of successful men and women often times reveal that success must be worked for. One of the many success stories is the life of Antonin Careme. He was born in Paris in 1784. At a young age, just a boy, his father took him to dinner then with the words “Go with what God has given you.” And thus abandoned the boy.

His father a poor man was unable to support the family of 25 and had not money to feed the family .In order to survive young Antonin asked for work in a tavern. Destiny by some providential accident set him to work in a type of activity for which he had been endowed with magnificent gifts. At first he worked very hard and at night slept in the cellar. He listened and observed and learned and eventually after years of continuously improving his style he became known as the king of cooks and the cook of kings. Indeed he became one of the most famous cooks in France and his books are in circulation to this day. What we take away from reading his biography is perhaps the determination not so much to accomplish success and cook for Napoleon as well as King George IV but simply never to be hungry or depend upon anyone for anything. I like that concept. I think we must strive to attain the goal we set.

In reading the lives of other successful men and women it became apparent to me that success comes from a great need. Poverty is a powerful tool to encourage one to go forward with strength to fill a hard task George Sand, was really Amandine Lucile Aurora Dupin. She became a writer at a time when women were not wholly accepted as writers. In 1800 women simply were not accepted as man's equal. She was as we define her today a rebel. She dressed as a man and smoked cigars and wrote novels and also short stories .All of this came about because of the need for money. Sadly there are those who come into power by means of hurting others.

While in some cases it may seem this one has reached the height of success, generally he has a great fall sooner or later. There is a price to pay. So In summery it takes a step -by -step process of thought hard work and determination. It is not enough to say I set out to be or I will get or in five years I plan to have the best of something. The first step is to contemplate. Reading is next. I find that people who are always talking have a low rate of success. If one I s talking he is not reading or listening as he is too busy taking up the spotlight. Unless we are born with a silver spoon and have little need to work hard to get to the top of the heap then find what will take you to the path along life's road. Observe others and learn their secret and then put into action your own ability. In today's world it becomes more and more difficult, but it can be done.

The field of acting is a crowded one yet we see time after time one who achieves the title of the best. It is because he or she works endlessly on the craft of acting. My young friend had married without any idea of how to cook. Today she has a small catering business and her clients are willing to pay a large sum of money for her service. She has not only good food but arranges the food to look spectacular. Age is not a factor. We are all familiar with Simian who wrote almost until the day he died in his 90;s, it is the secret to success; one is to find what we are searching for and two to go after it.
