Do you know who is the most atrocious foe of them all? Well, it attacks drop dead serious. It can blow your home down to the ground within a second. It can kill a whale when it struck. Worse, it can ruin your precious soul. And mind you, its hit is an earthquake-devastating and unpredictable. “Who is he?” you may ask. Rephrase. “What is it?” should be the question.
Actually, it is neither you nor me.
It's FAILURE. Failure in every field can result into total exhaustion and sometimes, it can transform us into unimaginable eccentric “KJs” of our time. It wrecks our very beings by altering our personality and character. We become lonely, frighten, insecure, and doubtful of the things surrounding us. Our optimistic view will be blurring itself, and little by little, being replaced by the other-- the pessimistic seeing.
Furthermore, if we wouldn't battle these negative feelings we hold inside our hearts, and if we wouldn't win over them, we will surely be eaten alive. I am the living proof. I was eaten by it. No joke. The “F” word ruled my life for years and yielded me into a monster.. a monster being fed by my own weaknesses and resentments. One by one, people closest to me started to leave my side. I can't blame them though. Maybe they already grew tired of consoling me..I who in the first place, didn't even care. So they didn't dare to ask why I suddenly changed. They didn't mock me. They remained silent and stagnant. And so the pain worsened.
After couple of month's realizing and accepting what had happened, I just found myself weeping for those days I threw my chances of being happy. Truly, life is not a “dead end”. Life is new everyday. As long as you live, hope is being revived. It is not about your “falls” but your “stand-ups”. It's not about failures, mistakes, or sin, it is how will you going to handle them. Anyways, when you fell hard, you'll going to strive harder.. hardest. And when you failed and overcame it, that's the time you already learned how to accept, forgive and love yourself a little more. Be like raindrops! Never be afraid of stumbling! A life with out it is not life after all!
