The power of the human hand is amazing!
handshakes have stopped the course of war.
a mother's touch on her childes brow,
can soothe away any fear
without touch,
a newborn baby's chance at survival is very limited.
the other side of the human hand can destroy everything, with just one touch of a button.
when hate is involved the human hand can kill, destroy and maim someone,
both physically and mentally.
when you look at your hand,
it looks so simple, but it isn't.
for that hand can change someone's life so completely.
a long time ago, someone's hand signed the constitution, bringing the united states, together.
today with another such signature,
we are sending our sons and daughters
across the sea, to a war that may never end, unless another hand takes charge, and says enough.
The handshake is the universal way for humans to connect.
the wimpy handshake means the person is not interested enough in the other to bother.
the overly strong handshake,
means i am trying to intimidate you.
the sweaty palms,
means i like you very much.
but the handshake that means the most,
is the double handed handshake.
that means you care enough to give your all, no holding back.
god gave us hands for a reason,.
to express our selves.
to comfort one another.
to show love.
But he also gave us free will,
and sometimes we forget just how destructive the hand can be.
with one touch, we have the ability to take someone's life, to destroy a child's innocence, to destroy ourselves.
an alcoholic has the power in his hand and his mind, to turn away.
to throw that bottle away,
to not get in that car and drive.
we all have the power within us to do the right thing, but we have to make that choice,
and sometimes we forget to take that hand,
put it out and ask for help, ask for forgiveness.
The power of the human hand,
is what can make or break us.
the human hand is more than a complex mass of bone and tissue,.
it is a tool that can be stronger than any hammer, when used wrong, and softer than a cloud when used right.
So remember, the next time you hold your loved ones hand,
or hug your child,
or soothe there weary brow,
your hand was able to comfort them. you have it within your hands to change there world, for the better, or for the worse.
