A rainy day at home alone can be a gift to be thankful for. You can engage in many wonderful, peaceful, personally fulfilling activities on this special day. Here are just a few springboards to get you started on a rainy day full of enjoyment.
- Use the quietness of a rainy day to read a good book.
- Challenge yourself with brainteasers, either from a book or off of the internet.
- Use this day to clear some clutter from a specific area of your home. Get yourself organized. Package up items you no longer need or wear to donate to a charity.
- Assemble a jigsaw puzzle.
- Call a friend you haven't talked with in a long time.
- Write a handwritten letter to a friend.
- Spend some extra time connecting with your pet if you have one. Give them a massage or a least a little extra grooming.
- Take a nap and don't feel guilty about doing so.
- Take time to prepare a new recipe or an old favorite that you haven't prepared lately.
- Curl up on the sofa, bed, or floor pillow and watch a really good movie.
- Sit at the window and watch it rain. Really observe the rain as it falls. Notice the drops that splash in puddles or dance on leaves. Watch it as it trickles down the window pane.
The opportunity to spend a rainy day at home alone may not happen often so it is extremely important to enjoy this day as much as possible.
