Brow experts fall into two groups – waxers and pluckers. Waxing is not a perfect science, and you surrender control to the wax. That is something you may not want to do since eyebrows are your best accessory. They frame your face and give you expression.
For a natural looking yet manicured brow, get a professional shaping first. If you have too thin, over plucked brows, wait four to six weeks for them to grow in before getting a professional arch.
Seven Simple Rules of Maintenance
- Slide into the driver’s seat. The light in the car is better than any bathroom.
- Magnify. A magnifying makeup mirror helps you spy the finest hairs.
- Select your weapon. Use good quality slant tweezers and always pluck in the direction the hair grows.
- Ice the brow. Icing the skin around your eyebrow before you tweeze shrinks the tissues so the hair is more visible, and there is more room to pluck from the root.
- Avoid no pluck zones. Some areas are better waxed than plucked. Place your index finger down the bridge of your nose and do not pluck this area. Also, leave the above the brow region for a professional so you don’t end up with a jagged top line.
- Finish off. Use a powder brow product that is a shade lighter than your natural shade. Fix the powder in place with clear mascara.
- Repeat daily. If you let a few days go fy, you will risk over plucking your arch
