Jon Benet's killer still unknown

Just what did happen to Jon Benet Ramsey? A man confesses, is extradited quickly back to the United States before DNA tests are carried out.. eager to close the case that has haunted them for a decade, or truly believing they had the right person? My opinion on what happened.

John Mark Karr has been cleared of killing Jon Benet Ramsey.

I honestly cannot believe that the authorities really thought his DNA would match that found on the little girls underwear. And while i can understand their eagerness to find someone guilty of this horrendous crime, what i cannot understand is why they were so quick to get him out of Thailand and back to that States BEFORE the DNA evidence had been checked.... would have been much less costly and, lets face it, with the hammering the Boulder Police Dept have already taken over their handling of this case, much less of a humiliation for them.

Having said all of that, they do now have him in custody and are sending to him California to face the charges relating to possessing kiddie porn from 5 years ago, (in no way is this guy the sort that you would leave your child with, if in fact he did have these items in his possession).

So where do the police go from here? Again they are back to where they started, no real suspect, (well none they are looking at in any depth). Of course they were so intent on trying to blame John and Patsy for Jon Benet's murder, they didnt think to look any further afield.

In my humble opinion, and yes i dont have all the information, but i have read a lot of the things that have come out officially about this case (i happen to love true crime and all that so called 'morbid' stuff), they should still be looking at John Ramsey, but not in the role of a killer. I dont think he killed his daughter, i do however believe that he knows much more than he is letting onto police, rumours of course are rife that he was involved in a paedophile ring... this hasnt actually ever been investigated fully, (no one is going to actually say yes they are when asked by authorities), Is it possible an associate of his did this crime and he is keeping quiet for fear of being exposed as one of them??? Some even suggest that he may have let the person responsible into his home to take 'pictures' of his daughter and the death was just a photographic session gone terribly wrong... again this is not an avenue the police have chosen to investigate. It seems for them, it was either the parent/s as the killers or not involved at all.

There are a few things that literally dont add up with this one when it comes to him......

  1. Witnesses at the house at the time of the 'official' discovery of the body say that Mr Ramsey said he found the body before he had even turned the light to the basement on, and from all reports of friends and family, that basement was so dark you couldnt see a foot in front of you with the light out.... just how did he see her laying there in the dark if that is the case?
  2. It gets back to the ransom note. According to evidence, the note was written on paper from the Ramsey home with a pen found in the Ramsey house. This means thats the killer somehow had access to the home either before or after the murder took place. It is then said that the letter was quite long and would have taken a lot of time to write. Would someone who had just killed a random stranger in her home, really risk taking the time to sit and write this long letter?

And what about that money demand mention in the ransom note.....$118,000, thats a pretty precise amount, and just happens to coincide with the bonus John Ramsey was paid that year through his work. Who would have known about that amount exactly? Logic suggests $100,000, even $150,000, hell for that matter $200,000, but $118,000????? Just too much of a coincidence if you ask me.

Does this false confession of a man now make it even harder to solve the crime, given next time there will be more cynicsm from the public? Does it mean the next crime crazy who confesses to the crime will be put down as wanting 15 minutes of fame?

Either way it doesnt look like anything is going to be solved any time soon. Which is a shame, since the murderer of this little girl needs to be punnished for what he/they/she did. Its a travesty that a little child can be molested and murdered in her own home, a place that is supposed to be a haven, and some 10 years later, the person/s responsible still walk free.
