Danny Ferrer who admitted earlier to have sold illegal software, now has enough time to consider his sins. Past Friday the software pirate has been condemned and will be jailed for a period of six years and has to refund an amount of 4.1 million dollars. Through the website 'BuysUSA', he sold among much software of Adobe, Autodesk and Macromedia. Ferrer told the judge that he acted out of grief; he wanted to help his sick wife, who suffers form inflammation of the pancreas. The money Ferrer obtained, he would then apply to buy a feeding tube for his wife. According to the judge, Ferrer however acted out of greed. The business provided Ferrer with great wealth. Ferrer was the proud owner of various airplanes, boats and cars. Next to the imprisonment the judge ruled that some of Ferres’s proud possessions such as: a Lamborghini from 1992 and two Fire Trucks were to be sold. The punishment that Ferrer received is one of the highest ever for software piracy.
