The Biggest Robbery in History

War is the ideal cover for crime. World war provides an even more effective diversion. While the Nazi war machine fanned across Europe in World War 2, a criminal operation was carried out on the most colossal scale.

They Stole Billions

They set about systematically stealing the untold wealth of conquered countries in an orgy blatant crime-for-profit. They stole not only the few miserable possessions of the millions they sent to the death camps. They literally stripped sovereign nations of their entire wealth - billions and billions of pounds in gold and diamonds and works of art. From the treasure houses of the former Czars, deep inside Russia, to the art galleries of Paris and the bank vaults of Rome.

Loss

Even decades after the end of the war, many governments still refuse to admit the extent of the fortunes stolen from them. Intellignece experts estimate that as much as 50 billion pounds worth of gold is still unaccounted for and that hundreds of crooks and their families are leading lives of luxury on the proceeds of the biggest robbery in history.

The Search Has Been Given Up

Allied forces gave a low priority to tracking down stolen cash and bullion. By the time they started trying to recover the astronomical sums of wealth, the fortune had vanished into the creaking remains of the international banking system. Stolen Nazi gold is undoubtedly the basis for many of the multi-national businesses which flourish today.
