Youth Crime and Young Offenders

Young offenders and juvenile delinquents are often the product of several influential factors. A combination of society, poverty, family involvement in crime and a lacking in the sense of right and wrong will undoubtedly steer a young person towards illegal activities. Once exposed to breaking the law in various forms, it's incredibly likely that the delinquent will become an adult criminal unless otherwise treated.

Young offenders are often place in correctional facilities to rehabilitate them back into society. Treatment of young offenders often includes association with peers and counselors as well as specialized educational programs. Depending on the offense, they may also be required to perform community service in the area they have been committing their crimes as a form of recompense and accountability. Depending on the effectiveness of rehabilitation, the young offender may integrate back into society with little or no difficulty.
