It is indeed true that nobody will remain in this world! We all will die anytime whether we like it or not. We don't know as to when we will die. It can be today, tomorrow, the next day or some other time around. We also don't know as to where we will die! We cannot even choose as to the way by which we will be eliminated in this world! So it is important that we must have to be ready always! Not necessarily to look forward to it or wait for it, but with the fact that we all will die, we must have to do something before it's not yet late. I know you will agree with me! Right?
In connection to the abovementioned scenario, we really have to make sure that we are always preparing for our time. But how will we know that we are prepared? How will we be able to prepare ourselves for that time? Here are some of the tips that you must have to bear in mind so that you can say that you are already prepared for death!
First, you must have to go to a religious place in which you will be able to enrich and find yourself in terms of religion. You can actually go to churches and other historical and miraculous places so that you will be able to see and feel the serenity of these places and observe how people's lives are affected by religion. In that way, you can pause for a while and ask questions to yourselves which you haven't ask before or you will be able to realize things that you haven't think of or realize before.
The second thing that you can do is to go sailing in the middle of the sea. You can either use a sailboat or a yatch to explore the beauty of the sea. This experience will make you wonder of how powerful God is and that you will be able to appreciate and be thankful for everything He has done/given you. This will also make you realize that life has a purpose and that you must live with its bounty. Though you have problems in life, you have to be open to the consequences life may offer. More than that, this experience will help you realize that you have the responsibility of influencing and helping people around you in any way you can.
You can opt to go on mountain climbing and discover how powerful God is. We all must have to appreciate and be thankful of the environmental gifts that He is giving us: the trees, the birds, the minute plants and animals that are living in forests and other related ecosystems. This experience will help you to have peace of mind and be able to realize that we must have to take good care of the things we have. That we have to value all these gifts and make sure that we have utilized them fully not just for ourselves but also use them for the benefit of the people close to us.
Attending a prayer rally is another way of preparing your spiritual life for death. By doing this, you will be able to learn many things and that you will have the spiritual enlightenment.
Another way is by attending a retreat/recollection. By doing so, you will be able to share your life/experiences to the people and be able to affect the way they live and their perception of life and love. We all know that it is really a nice experience to share, to entertain and to inform people!
All of us are given the gift of knowledge/ intellect and judgment so as to help other people. Giving pieces of advice to the people around us is indeed a great pleasure! So, if somebody will ask you for your help by way of soliciting your thoughts, do it and see how they will thank you for that!
The seventh thing is “confession.” You must have to confess to a priest and repent for all your sins! This will help you to have peace of mind!
The next thing is “sharing.” You must have to share what you have to those who don't have. A concrete example for this is that you will give alms to the poor, give a smile to the beggar and extend a help to those who are heavily laden. This will give you the sense of fulfillment!
Hug all persons close to you now while you can. Because time will come that you cannot do it anymore. Forgive those who slap you on the face and give them a smile. Forgive and you will have the chance of staying in the kingdom of the Heavenly Father.
When you know that you are about to die, just tell your family to donate any of your body organs to those who need them. For example, if somebody needs an eye donor, why don't you donate your eye? By doing so, you will be blessed by the Almighty One!
