Buried feet first

Getting buried..the other way.

For his last wish before dying, local politician Albert Frink was buried feet first yesterday in the Quebec City cometary.

A very special funeral took place yesterday at the Quebec City cometary, when local politician Albert Frink,82, had demanded to be buried feet first instead of the conventional horizontal way.

''He never layed down for anyone, and if he didn't do in life, he would not do it in death either''said his son Robert Frink, 50, who is a council member for the city.''My father made this demand about five years ago and we are glad his last wish has been respected''

Albert Frink had been on the council board for a record 13 terms. Very controversial, but immensely respected, Mr.Frink was best known for his determined sense of politics. Never was he the one to obey, he was usually the first to question the ethics of his colleges.

Mr.Frink was also known for his right-wing thoughts, in a very left wing city, making him an easy target. ''My father never took a dime from anyone, he was always an honest politician''. said his daughter Helena,55,.

The burying was only family and press admitted, but many on-lookers stared in aw at what was taking place. ''He was strange in life, so I guess he'll stay strange in death too''. said Betty a Quebec city resident. ''I just had to take a picture of this''. said the cemetery grave digger. ''I've been digging graves for thirty years and believe me I've never seen this before''.

Minister, Pierre Leblanc was as surprised as anyone that Mr. Frink had come up with this idea. Questioned on the cost of a vertical burial he replied, ''Horizontal or vertical the cost does not change. One this is for sure, is that God must be smiling at this event''.
