Loved friend and family member killed by a reckless woman.
Alonzo was in track and he went out for a run with a group of friends and his brother he was just exercising so he could be fit for track. While running a woman in a car was driving by, she was high on weed, she was on her cell phone and she was arguing with her kids in the backseat when she was passing by.
When she hit Alonzo she didn't know what she hit and kept on driving until the group that was with him started running toward her car then she stopped. Alonzo's brother was holding Alonzo all bloody in his arms crying and just waiting until the ambulance and cops showed up.
No one knows who called the police and the ambulance but we think it was the neighbors. The woman was arrested that day but let go two days later, it turned out that her boyfriend's brother was in the same school as Alonzo. Alonzo went to the hospital and had surgery three times but the doctor said he had only a 5% chance of survival and if he did survive he would be paralyzed forever; he was running on machines during that point which made his survival seem more unlikely.
His parents wanted him to stop suffering so they were going to pull the plug. The day they were going to unplug him was Sunday January 27th , 2008 at 6:00pm but on that very day he died on his own at 2:17pm. He sent a cry to all his family and friends and we all miss him. The woman who ran him over is still not in custody but we are trying to get her arrested and make sure she pays for the damage she did to everyone who loved him and to Alonzo himself.
