It is always possible that some Americans will resist the changes that are necessary for adapting the changes towards energy-efficient lifestyles. It may not seem the easiest alternative and that government could do something in order to resolve the weak energy reserve issues. What we have shown so far in this paper is that the need of replacing less energy-efficient habits with more energy-efficient habits is the hallmark of what Americans are doing.
More and more people who drove larger and less compact cars are turning towards smaller and more compact cars. Not only does purchasing smaller cars more energy-efficient, but at the same time makes cleaner and purer air to breathe. This in itself is the result of emissions controls which are part of newer cars. The main source of concern is that everyone take note of how they are spending natural energy resources and try to find ways to change towards a more efficient persons (Patterson Cope).
What we have shown in this paper could be summarized by saying that gas subsidizing by government would only take away a rich opportunity from American to change to a more efficient lifestyle. A more energy-efficient lifestyle provides a rich source of types of fuels or options to fuel that would be a greater enhancement to energy-efficient living and less dependence upon government subsidies.
If America is to survive the possibility that fuel subsidizing is not longer an option there must be certain things that every American must do in order for it to come out right:
- Americans must learn to be energy-efficient conscious:
- Energy-efficient conscious entails conscious awareness how each person is using natures energy resources and taking an active role in encouraging others to do the same
- Habits are to be formed, beginning at home, where each choice to use natural resources must be checked with a certain status or priority: one can be most energy-efficient; two can be less energy-efficient; three could be least energy-efficient
- Perhaps even keeping a log book of how these conscious efforts to live more energy-efficient creates new ways of living and using natural resources; the notebook can become an objective sign that natural resources are a precious part of what it means to be an American
- The hope to live energy-efficiently must be extended beyond the home into neighbor , neighborhood, state and nation. Learning what others are doing can also become a catalyst to living more energy-efficient lives as well as enhancing the hope that nature's natural resources can be used wisely and maturely for future generation.
