The anthropological concept of culture is very diverse for it can be view in a number of perspectives, namely: historical, behavioral, functional, structural, and mental. Bodley (1994) simply and operational defined culture consists of three components: what people think, what they do and the materials they produce. These components are characteristics of social phenomenon.
Technology is very much a cultural activity for it has become an integral part of modern living. Like culture, the word “technology” is literally hard to define. It is derived from the Greek word techne suggesting a set of crafts or techniques for making things. Technology can be simply understood by looking at the types it inherits, that is as objects; as knowledge; as activities; as process; and socio-technical systems. Thus technology as look as a system that helps people to satisfy needs or overcome problems.
In education, the presence of technology in the mathematics classroom has already been felt. Some educators are excited by this presence, while others view technology as another load to their educational tasks. Meanwhile, technology is developing in the form of artificial intelligence systems. If these systems are fully develop, the issues then would be - can it replace mathematics teachers?
