Issues At Schools

This article describes problems found at schools. You can make a difference by taking action after reading this.

This article is about my life at school. That’s right, I’m still a child. School helps you learn, make new friends, etc. However, as to the good sides, there are bad sides, too. Many issues are found at school. I will explain some of them, some that I go through at my school.

Bullying is a major issue in schools. I have been bullied around a lot, but now am not anymore. Bullying can start as early as kindergarten. Today, bullying has great consequences such as: contracts, suspension, time spent at Juvenile Hall, and much more, but still these kids bully around others. I have seen lots of bullying, why is it that kids don’t stand up to bullies? For one reason, telling an adult is considered snitching. This can lead to name calling. Another reason is that, fighting back is not a good idea. Most kids know this and that is why they do not tell because of name calling and well, fight back. Why is it that adults have not found a way to solve this issue?

"Why have they not fixed these problems to improve school conditions?"

Because unlike businesses which must satisfy consumer demand to survive, public schools are guaranteed survival through forced funding. In fact, many schools get more money when they have more problems. Even when small reforms come down the pipeline to public schools, they are infinitesimal compared to the ability of private enterprises to adapt and innovate in satisfying consumer demand.

People can do something, withdraw their support of these indoctrination centers.

In answer to the person who authored this article, I hope I can explain and reassure you in "English". YES we are trying to fix these problems in school. As the parent of a child that had an unfortunate encounter with a bully, it was random and happened with no previous warning or bullying by this student.

As parents we must be made aware especially if our children are having trouble while in school. I understand you not wanting to make an issue for the reasons you mentioned. Unfortunately bullying has been going on for a very long time. You can take heart in the fact that our schools are now trying to do a better job of "Bully Proofing" our schools. So much awareness has come out about these very issues that finally something is being done.
Bullying is terribly serious as it leads to all kinds of ongoing serious problems resulting in more than just bullying.

I would encourage you to feel comfortable telling your parent. They can then talk to the school, this way it is a more private comfortable situation for the person having the trouble. There are ways around it however fearful, try and talk to an adult about your concerns.

Actions and words can really hurt when being the object of another's torment. I hope you find some help and comfort in my words, and if you are out of harms way, it would be Great to be of some help to another student or friend who may be experiencing the same feelings/problems as you once did.

I hope this helped you, as I know our schools are now implementing programs to help with just these situations. We all
have to be part of the solution, if not, we are than part of the problem. I for one would never choose the latter.
Good luck to you, and good for you to Speak out!
