To begin with, many have asked "why is school important?" or "why do we have to go to school?" These are some of the innocent questions that are frequently asked through childhood. People that ask these questions are either too young to understand the value of education or have no plans for their future. There are an abundance of reasons why school is important: prepares you for adulthood, allows you to interact with peers, helps to understand basic principles, and finally it helps you learn about the past which helps to prevent the repetition of mistakes that have been made throughout history.
Nowadays, the prices for living in most states are very high. Housing, food, gas, etc. can add up to a lot of money, especially when you start factoring in kids. A low minimum wage job can't support a family like it used to. People need to give themselves options, these options require a decent education and the ability for a person to be flexible in whichever field they work. As an example, with the modern age comes the demand for more people in different fields of technology. Individuals are needed for companies to keep up with their competition. Employers want skilled workers that are able to handle a variety of problems that arise. If you were a patient going in for a heart transplant you wouldn't want a sloppy doctor who slept through all his classes, and so companies don't want sloppy workers who are unprepared for their jobs.
The education level of people in our nation also affects how we are perceived as a country. Fore example, we don't want people in the government who haven't studied history. The past is an essential learning tool in making decisions for the betterment of the nation and everyone living in it. However, education isn't only for those aspiring to lead, everyone needs to have some understanding of the career that they choose to pursue. The more people that take the initiative to go for a higher education can help to fuel out economy and make advances in medicine, technology, etc.
The way I see it there are many plus sides to going to school no matter how much we hate it. Boring teachers, needless and endless work, and loss of sleep because of this endless work; yes, I know about the downsides, but it doesn't make me want to quit on reaching out for something more. Any person who studies hard and takes pride in their work can make a difference in the world. Not too long ago in our country's history, education was a luxury only the rich could be given because the poor needed to work the fields and other fun manual labor jobs that paid very little for the energy expended. Those that are still in school like me should take advantage of your opportunity and push yourself to achieve a better life through education.
