Should Students Wear Uniforms to School?

Do you think students should have to wear uniforms to school? Find out what this Grade six student has to say about and thinks about this!

The Ontario government is currently suggesting an implantation of a 4 day school week, with a stable 3 day weekend with hopes that children will achieve better and more efficiently. Students should be allowed to have this 3 day rest each week because of the facts that it benefits students and teachers to relax and prepare for the next week, the students are allowed to spend more of there usual school and work time to spend with their family, and it allows the children to become more efficient, by accomplishing more in a lesser time.

The first advantage of the many is that this system allows students and teachers to relieve of there stress and prepare for next week. For teachers, this is great for them to get extra time for things like report cards, or marking tests that they didn't finish marking so they can hand the tests back on time. For students, this long weekend allows students to finish there homework, while still having time for 1 or 2 whole days for them to play. By doing that, they can be less cranky and stressful, allow them to achieve better in school. Also, an advantage this brings to students is that students may have more time to study for tests and quizzes when given this 3 day weekend.

As well as having time to study students may also have the benefits of spending more time with their family. If students are given a longer weekend, he/she could finish there homework on Friday, and Saturday (if needed) and then this could allow them to have 1 to 2 whole days of family time. It allows stronger relations with family members and also creates a stronger bond between them.

The last fact that I present to you today is that this system simply allows children to study, learn and accomplish better. This is because when you have a long weekend, this gives the children a chance to come up to family members, visit friends to make sure they fully understand the subject. Also this allows children to receive more rest causing them to have more of there mind on the work rather than thinking about sleeping all day.

For citizens and people that disagree with this 3- day rest period and think this is not a good idea, I would suggest a rotation, such as a 4 day school week, then 5 day school week , a rotation every month or so. That way every will see the result and effectiveness of both systems before coming to a final conclusion.

I scanned this briefly to see if it would eventually come back to the topic?? I think it must have gotten mixed up with another subject. I would be happy to comment on both when clarified. Take care!
