Teachers lights the road for us to march to our future when we are students. Actually, their influence on us, sometimes, can last for a life time. Especially, when we have a good teacher, we respect him or her, and some of his or her ideas will affect us in many aspects.
The teachers teach us knowledge, how to be a good and successful person, and help us to find the answers to the questions of what we learn. They broaden our knowledge and views, which is quite helpful to make us enjoy our work and life later. “Grammar speaks; dialectics teach us truth; rhetoric gives coloring to our speech; music sings; arithmetic numbers; geometry weighs and measures; astronomy teaches us to know the stars.” Also, there are many more knowledge, which frees our mind, spirit and soul. This is another kind of emancipation - mental and psychological emancipation. This helps us enjoy the freedom of knowledge.
“Education is the guardian genius of democracy. It is the only dictator that free men recognize, and the only ruler that free men require.” Teachers let us know about it. In this sense, teachers are so powerful in changing the mind of a society. As we know, most of our ideas are not born with us, and they are formed during the procedure of our growth. In this procedure, we have learned a lot from our teachers.
I think, teachers can function like the parents of the children in some stages, and there is a famous saying, “one day a teacher, time life a father.” This is to say that the teachers have so great influence to the children, and they can be compared to the parents of them. The teachers, actually, consider more than the parents on how to educate the children to be a person with knowledge, morality, and capability. Most of us spend about 15 years at school, from primary school to college. From the first day of schooling, we have more time with the teachers than that with our parents.
Teachers should gain social respects, and it is a wonderful occupation.
