2007 Fashion Trends

What’s hot in 2007? Here’s an early preview so you don’t get left behind.

Ah, another new year. As we bid goodbye to 2006, we also bid “goodbye” to a few fashion trends and say “hello” to some new ones.

So what's hot in 2007? Read on:

Hot: Tousles and Waves

Cold: Long, Straight Hair

Tired of conditioning and blow-drying for straight hair? Here's good news: hair in 2007 is all tousles and waves.

In other words, you shampoo at night, go to bed, wake up, put on your make-up and head out. Don't worry about your bed-head. It screams, “I had great sex last night.”

If you're the type who loves styling, though, try replacing your hair spray with salt spray. That's right: spray your hair with salt water. It will bring out your natural waves, and you never have to spend money at a salon.

Hot: Natural Curves

Cold: Wonder Bra

Take a hint from Lara Croft, whose character has suddenly gone from size DD to size C.

After all the up-sized breasts shoved in our faces in 2006, we have become experts at detecting “doctored” curves, and plastic breasts just don't do it for us anymore.

So say goodbye to padded push-ups, and breathe easy—literally—in 2007.

Hot: UV Protection

Cold: “Healthy Tan”

I guess, nobody considers wrinkles and skin cancer sexy anymore.

Sure, you can get your tan out of a bottle nowadays, but—well, in 2007, you don't have to.

Hot: Legs!

Cold: Loose Pants and Long Skirts

Better start exercising and waxing your legs again. 2007's pants are tight (goodbye, elephant pants) and its skirts are short (goodbye, long skirts).

Actually, most people just won't let their loose pants go, but the fashion gods declared 2007 a year of tight pants, and they WILL have their way eventually, if not sooner, so you might as well be prepared.

I am proud of being 34DD and will not cut back to a C for anyone. And cotton baggy pants are practical and comfortable for ladies in their 60s like me. I prefer to look like, if not Lara Croft then at least her mother.

I wear loose pants that are really baggy and long skirts :)

I am glad to see the effortless look is in. Women get too caught up in their made-up looks. I like to see people "natural." And, since I am not busty, I love that big boobs are out!

It all sounds great, but I really can't see veiny and pasty as ever being hot...............

Not too sure how the tight pant trend will affect full figured women like me (size 16). I don't think people will want to see that! As for the relaxed hair look - a great big YAY!

Hate that straight hair is out. I am the opposite. go to bed wake up with super straight hair. curl it, in 5 minutes super straight hair. You get the picture! only straight hair is effortless for me.

No worries Karen, girls with naturally straight hair will still be in; the ironed-flat is the look that is out. Naturally straight hair looks, well, natural. And men polled prefer straight hair.

I am totally loving the summer 2007 look. I don't really like the straight hair (for me) because I have curly hair. All that gets me tired. Also, I don't have to worry about the big DD"s anymore. That is awesome! Thanks

So a healthy tan is out eh? WRONG. Pale uv protected skin is wayyy overrated and a golden tan can always make a girl look sexy.

ughhh the hair part sucks cuase mine is too short to have beautiful curls and the jeans part is awesome, and pale skin is so gross ! Why on earth would someone want to be pale ?

look im a latin male and just had to comment on the posters dissing pale skin. first off my wife is pale and she is extremely gorgeous and never had a man tell her otherwise. she does not have "blue veins" all over her body nor does she have feckles or any other gross things associated with pale skin, she is just not tan. if i wasnt hispanic she wouldnt have wanted me to tan, its not healthy, and to the poster who said a "healthy tan" is out wrong" there is no such thing as a healthy tan, a tan is a sign of skin damage. my sister is going out with a caucasion man who doesnt tan and is a handsome guy and never has been told otherwise by women. u tanaholics need to give it up with the tanning propaganda, skin color is not what makes someone attarctive your either handsome and in good shape or beautiful and fit or not, tanning will not change the fact that your ugly. ive watched all the pale people sit back and take it all these years while we darker skinned people got all the recognition, and now that there is signs of change and greater health awareness all u tanaholic caucasion people are already calling sun protection and pale skin overrated and it hasnt even been a month yet, well as a level headed latin male i say give it up and stop trying to hold onto your silly tan preference for dear life as if its the only thing you have going for you, if thats the case u must be pretty ugly and than it all makes sense, again..pale skin most of the time does not equal veins freckles and all these imperfections u associate it with, your either hot or not simple as that.

Juan, I'm so envious of your wife, that you would get so heated up on even just an indirect criticism of her. There are indeed countries where white skin - even with veins and freckles - is considered beautiful. In countries where brown skin is the norm, women spend FORTUNES just to get their skin bleached - and risk cancer too by all the chemicals they put on their skin to whiten it! Beauty is really very arbitrary, just as fashion is very fleeting - sometimes, too fleeting. 2007 is not even over yet, and as Val said, this article is already on it's way out, if it isn't already :) Well, it was fun while it lasted. Thank you, readers!

Juan, although I give you major props for sticking up for pale people, blue veins and freckles are not flaws.

Great tips here! I love it. About the pale skin vs tan issue - I'm somewhere in the middle of dark and fair. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about tanning or bleaching my skin!
