10 More Mythical Creatures

Here are 10 more mythical creatures in my series. I hope you read and enjoyed the first 10.

These are 10 mythical creatures.

Amphisbana is a Greek mythical ant eating serpent with a head at each
end. They were spawned by the blood of Medusa after Perseus
slew her.

The Banshee is an Irish death spirit. Often foretelling death by wailing
or keening. Sometimes a Banshee would attach itself to a particular
family. Banshees were said to have long hair which they would comb
sometimes if you see a comb on the ground it may have belonged to a
banshee you should leave the comb alone.

Doppelgangers are usually a persons ghostly double doing particular
actions in advance. A harbinger of death or bad luck. A famous case of sometime
seeing their Doppelgangers was Abraham Lincoln seeing his own assassination.

Elves are from Norse mythology. Often depicted as men or women of great beauty
having great magical powers. They were portrayed in the Lord of the Rings
trilogy as well as on the Keebler Elf cookie commercials.

Gig antes are a race of giants who fought the Olympian Gods at times depicted
as hideous monsters with snake legs. Several of the Olympian Gods fought
several of the Gig antes. Finally, Heracles dealt the final blow which helped
defeat the Gig antes.

humans or hinder them. They are pranksters. Such as Hop o my Thumb
and Puck.

Kobalos are the Greek race of small people that sprites and hobgoblins
derived from. They are said to be shape shifters fond of scaring
and robbing mortals.

The Mares of Diomedes are four fire breathing, man eating mares.
In one of the Labors of Hercules he was sent to steal the mares.
In one version he is said to have tamed them by feeding their
giant owner to them which made them calmer. In another version
Hercules tied their mouths together then gave them to King
Eurytheus who in turned gave them to Hera.
However, Zeus did not like the mares and sent wild beasts to destroy them.

Triton- is the son of Poseidon. He is the trumpeter of the sea. He was able to
either calm the sea or raise the sea using his conch sea shell. He has the
upper part of a man with the bottom half of a fish like mer people. He had
several children which are also called Triton.

Typhon in Greek mythology is Echidna's husband. He is portrayed as having
hundreds of serpent heads. He tried to overthrow Zeus as the King of the
Gods. Zeus crushed Mount Etna on him as punishment.
