Finding the Lost City

(contd.)

So what about an Atlantic crossing? Given the seafaring nature of the Phoenicians, the Egyptians, the Greeks (remember that anchor!) and the Carthaginians, someone could surely have made it across the Atlantic, right?

Wrong. Given what we know about the ships of those civilizations, the peoples of the ancient world would have been unable to successfully navigate the harsh waters of the Atlantic. So how did evidence of these cultures make it halfway around the world?

On the topic of cultures, we also have great similarities there. First, as I mentioned earlier, almost every civilization on both sides of the Atlantic has some story about a great civilization in the Atlantic Ocean - be it Greek/Egyptian Atlantis, English Avalon, or Native American Atlan (how's that for similarity?). Plus, we have very similar languages, city names, traditions, and cultures. Cities in Latin America have similar names to those in Mediterranean region. Languages between the civilizations are very similar. There have even been reports of Hebrew traditions, celebrations, and names for God abounding in certain Native American tribes. Coincidence? I think not.

Here's another great story about east-west similarity. At the same time in both hemispheres (around 1400 BC) a massive economic crisis swept the world. It was this crisis that paved the way for the rise to power of the Greek Empire, specifically the Greek Navy. Now, we all know that massive economic devastation doesn't just happen. So, what caused this crisis? And why did it suddenly spring the Greek Navy to power?

Well, now I have shown all my evidence. So, let's review really fast.

  1. There are structures around the world that we know little about that appear to have been made by some superhuman means
  2. We have almost no history of the actions of the Native South Americans
  3. In histories that we do have on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, all tell a story about a great civilization lost beneath the Atlantic
  4. While no Mediterranean or Native American civilization could have crossed the Atlantic, somehow their cultures are related
  5. There is evidence of a civilization under the sea near Bimini
  6. There is evidence that ancient Egypt at least considered the ideas of flight, space travel, and battery power
  7. There are very strange things that happen in the Bermuda Triangle
  8. Oceans tend to be named for a reason; the Atlantic has no such reason besides Atlantis
  9. There is a great possibility that much Egyptian knowledge is hidden under the Great Sphinx and deep in the pyramids
  10. People sometimes discover something far beyond what they should realistically know and can realistically understand

So now what do we conclude? Let me now tie up all these loose ends with a single theory: The Lost City of Atlantis. More specifically, the theory that I call the Electromagnet Theory of Atlantis.

The legend of Atlantis states the following. Atlantis was a great civilization, just beyond the Straight of Gibraltar. In case you don't know, that means it's in… the Atlantic Ocean. That would explain how the Atlantic got its name: It as simple the ocean that surrounded Atlantis.

Atlantis was an island nation that was a great seafaring nation and a vastly wealthy nation. The city itself was on a giant island. A great sea wall ran all along the edge of the island to protect the city from both invasion and sea disasters. A great gate led to a channel that opened up into three ring-shaped inland seas. Causeways connected the manmade islands created by digging these rings. The outermost region of the island was farmland and the main city; the people were housed there, lived there, et cetera. The next ring in housed the docks for merchant ships and the markets for goods that may have been brought by Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Phoenician, and Carthaginian ships from the Mediterranean or Atlantean ships coming all the way from the distant Atlantean colonies around the world.

The next ring in housed the royal palace, where the king of Atlantis resided. Along with it was the barracks that housed Atlantis's army, and the ring of water around it was filled with the docks of the great Atlantean navy.

Another water ring surrounded the inmost island. This housed the great Temple of Poseidon, the god who ruled Atlantis. It was made from gold and other precious medals and featured a pure gold statue of Poseidon in a chariot pulled by six golden horses.

Now that is a description. Plato described Atlantis and its history in even more detail. Could you even describe your own neighborhood in that much detail, much less a city you've never seen? I doubt I could. Such detail must have come from fact, Atlantis or not.

Then, of course, the entire nation was destroyed in a great storm. Plato describes earthquakes and great waves, and in a single day and night Atlantis was destroyed. Possible? Oh yah. Just look at the tsunami that hit Southeast Asia not long ago. Total annihilation is distinctly possible, especially if it is a storm unlike any that this world has seen since or will likely ever seen again: A hurricane of apocalyptic proportions. A hurricane that was man-made.
