Terror of the Scorpion Bride

A scorpion fable.

Asyra the scorpion queen was known more for her black widow tendancies. She vowed that until she found a male that she considered her equal, her suitors would meet with horrific demises. Asyra had searched the land far and wide for that one she could keep, but none quite seemed to measure up.

That was until Jem-Rasha, this scorpion too had sought a mate to call his equal Asyra knew there was something quite different about Jem-Rasha, he was an Egyptian scorpion, perhaps that was the draw, but there was more to it. Asyra had plagued her provinces with stinging death for 150 years, in anguish over not finding her love. With Jem-Rasha however, she felt at peace. "Perhaps now I shall be the scorpion bride I have always longed to be" thought Asyra.

Jem-Rasha was a scorpion that was known as having a temper,he was also a dominant type. Somehow rather than frightening Asyra, he intrigued her. Perhaps in him she saw a challenge, or perhaps it was his independent nature that fascinated her so. Whatever the attraction, they were drawn instantly and forever to one another.

Jem-Rasha was naturally protective of his scorpion bride, he sought to teach her all he knew about the world. Though he was Egyptian Jem-Rasha had been to many places. Everywhere from Cairo, within Egyptian borders to Rome, Italy. In all his travels over the remainder of his life, Asyra remained loyal to him, and he to her.

They were each others equal, to the core of their being, and they quickly forgot about the anguish they suffered before meeting. They were intoxicated just by each others presence.  If people could learn a lesson from the scorpion and his bride, it would be this. Do not settle for anything less than what you deserve in a partner. Love your partner for who they are, in spite of their flaws as we all have them.

Last but not by any means least, when you find the One, you will know, pain is a natural thing in life, it helps us to grow and mature. If you let anguish eat at you, terrible consequences can occur, both to you and those around you. Do not be as Asyra was in the beginning, she allowed anguish to drive her to rage.

Do not seek your happiness only in a mate, because if you cannot first function independently, then how can you function as a unit? Stability in all things must be maintained, without it there can be only misery.
