The only thing I have a problem with is gay marriage
and not for a religious reason for I am not a religious man, but to defend my self on my statement i'll tell you why I have a problem with it. I view marriage it's self as just a contract that legally binds the couple, however this document was basicly intended for the wellfair of the offspring this couple might have.

However Homosexual people produce no offspring, thus this is not needed, some claim "love this love that, why can't we be married?" In my opinion you don't have to be married to love someone, so I really never understeed that argument, well ok that's it for me.

Now back to this article, this was good, however the whole "god is bisexual" thing is kind of contradicting to the bible, again i'm not a religious person, but inorer for me to believe and know what I know, i'm basicly forced to read the bible to be able to defend myself agisnt certain morons

The world is filled with people seeking to know who they are, and what their purpose in life is. It is the driving force in our lives! There are many who believe they have found the answers in the holy bible and do their best to live accordingly and that is very good.

However, until we meet the Living Lord and develop an authentic relationship with Him we will still be without the fullness of truth that our hearts seek. Those that have found The Lord KNOW, that God so loved the world that he sent His only begotten son, that who-so-ever believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

I am an 82 yr. old Christian, who is a Lesbian that struggled for many years to understand my relationship to God. God is faithful and truly loves each one of us just as we are. We are not carbon copies of one another….we must each find our own way to the path that will bring us into wholeness.

Everyone believes in something greater than themselves unless they are a narcicist. If not God, the IRS, their favorite football team, family, whatever. I believe if it makes you a better person, do it. There are enough screwed up people in this world already. If you refuse to accept other people for the things that make them better, you are picking a fight probably due to a lack of self worth. If a person is homosexual, let them be. If a person is a bible thumping christian, let them be. The term itself hints to some resistance. If you are picking a fight, I have the solution. You are both wrong. The bible teaches to turn the other cheek. If it offends you that someone is gay, love them anyway. God loves all people. If you are gay and are tired of being persecuted, get over it. You know as well as I do you are not going to change these people\'s religious beliefs any more than they are going to change your sexual orientation. And when you came out of the closet, you knew that you would meet people that disagreed. Thats why you were in the closet to begin with. Don\'t quote the bible if you can\'t quote scriptures and don\'t think you know what it is to be gay unless you are gay yourself. And by the way, I do beleive that it is a wonderful way to control population. I do not think that same sex marriage is a good idea, but that is only because, with the divorce rate, and laws attatched to marriage and divorce, I do not believe marriage is a good idea anymore anyway. Years ago, men needed women for a strong family anchor and companionship. Women needed men for protection and financial support. Women no longer need men and men no longer need women. Neither one sticks around long enough to fulfill their vows in most cases these days. Why in the world would anyone want to get married for other than religious reasons? If marriage were not a legal binding contract, would you want it to be?

Matt, so one thing you bring up is that you believe that if someone offends you, that you should just turn the other cheek? That we should accept everyone for who they are? Alright I guess we should close down all rehab centers, since apparently we need to accept stoners and drunks for who they are. I know a lot of stoners, and I know that most of them really just do some pot here and there, and don't really threaten the welfare of society. But there are those who will go out and do something stupid while under the influence, but according to you, we should not do anything about them. We need to accept them, and turn the other cheek when they have a head-on collision with a van full of kids.

I am not going to accept everyone for who they are, if it threatens the welfare of other people. Religion has proven to be one of the leading causes of war, but as I said earlier, even without religion we humans will still fight. But those religious people who are so devoted to their religions that they are willing to throw away their lives--and kill others in the process--for those beliefs, I will not simply tolerate, and I will not accept them. I'll accept them about as much as I accept hurricanes; they suck, cause lot of damage, but we got to learn with them, and hopefully, some day, we can find a way to be totally rid of them.

I really have no comments about marriage, just that if a gay couple wants to get married, then they should have that right, as well; even if only for religious purposes.

I do not need to be able to know the exact words from the bible to quote it and discuss it, nor do I need to be gay to know what it is like; if we can figure out the habits of animals through observation, then why not gay people? And what about interactions? I interact with them all of the time, and I can empathize with them. What you're doing is supporting diversity, and though that is a good thing, it also ENFORCES stereotypes. Diversity is accepting differences, but to say a community college is diverse enforces the common stereotypes we hear. Diversity is tolerating other peoples’ differing behavior; isn’t it a grand world where everyone merely tolerates one another, rather than respecting and befriending them? There is a difference, and a big one.

Sin was created into the world.

Sense god did not create sin, he could not have created homosexuals.

No, homosexuality is not a sin. God, if he is truly omniscient, would be able to see how he is indirectly involved in homosexuals becoming what they are. Even I can see that, and I am just a mortal. Or is he so self-righteous that he believes he should not be blamed for it?

If God was real he would not condemn people to the foulest place ever created just for a sin that ended up having no major affect on Earth. Someone being a homosexual is not going to mean the end of lives for countless people; something that has happened because of people deluded by their faith in God.

If He was real, then He did create sin. Even if only indirectly. If you somehow end up convincing a friend to kill some kid, without even realizing what you are doing, would you not feel bad? I am sure you would. So why would God not take responsibility for having his hand in creating sin?

But WHY would homosexuality be such a sin, that is my question. Why would God be so very against it? It has no major repercussions here on Earth, other than self-righteous busy-bodies getting involved in homosexuals' private affairs, and making a big issue over it. Why would a homosexual be held in the same light to God as a murderer or a thieve? It even says in the bible that they are; but why? You only ask or think of what 'God's' opinion is. You do not question them, you simply fall in line.

Even if I was Christian, I still would not look at homosexuality as a sin, and I would not look at God as perfect.

And the bible supposedly being the "Word of God", gives proof to support that God is probably not real. How? Because the bible is riddled with holes and things that simply do no add up, and if it is the "Word of God", and God is supposed to be "perfect", it wouldn't make sense for it to stem from him. If he is all that is good, then he would not condemn people to Hell for having physical attractions to the people of the same sex. It is not something so bad that one should be punished with a lietime of torment for its act.

For someone so young, you really like to go on about age... Someone can't waits to grow into his big-boy pants.

You can read it all in Genesis.

God ordained life to flourish through man and women.
He speaks through the bible, that every woman on earth, has a match just for her, and she will bare children.
Being gay, is a sin, because the only reason you wish to be gay, is for the type of sex you get.
Don't say its not, because if it wasn't, there would be no other reason.
Anything you can do with a guy, besides sex, can be done with a woman, some where on this earth.
So, that only leaves sex.
And having and living in the pleasures of this earth, is a sin against god.
No one seems to understand this, so i will say it once more.
Every time some one sins, it hurts god.
It is not so god can be all powerful, and rule over your life, and bully everyone around, and be feared of.
Its because god is the creator of this earth, he chooses whether you live or die, he chooses the fate of our lives.

Only religious 'nuts' believe that homosexuals go to hell, so don't pay too much attention to them. However, one should be wary of coming up with theories that could use a bit more thought or research.

People are far too cynical these days. They seem to interpret obvious jokes as serious statements. Though maybe I should have added, "DUN DUN DUN!" afterwards to make it a bit clearer for those thick in the head. Obviously, God did not really have sex with a woman; he just conjured up a fetus and stuck it in her womb. But then again, I have not really bought into the Christian lore, so it's all nothing but a story to me.

Fair enough, but if God exists then it would be foolish of him to dislike something He created in the first place -- even if indirectly; especially since homosexuality has no more negative influences on the world than heterosexuality. Other than the controversy that is sparked from it. But if God does exist, and if he does, in fact, consider homosexuality to be a sin, then you should be fine so long as you repent for whatever you do. That\'s another reason the Christian faith is so flawed. Many Christians tend to say to take everything in the bible seriously, but if you do so you can\'t deny the possibility that if Hitler, for example, repented for his sins, he could have still gone to Heaven.

If God exists, I like to think any holy documents referring to him simply are not correct, and God is far more complex and open-minded than they depict him to be. Otherwise we\'d have anyone going to Heaven, so long as they should repent.

But that is not to say I believe they should go to Hell, either. I might have already said this in my comments, but from how it is described, I would not even want Hitler to spend much time there. It\'s too horrible. Simply not being allowed into Heaven should be punishment enough. Maybe instead they could just rot in the ground with no concious afterlife.

However, being an Agnostic I do not believe in any of it it anyways.
