To me, the United States of America is a matter of pride. Pride for our troops down through the years who have protected us, fought for freedom and achieved that freedom at the cost of personal life and limb. Pride for those who have sought to make things better, to accomplish something for the betterment of man-kind. Pride for that red, white and blue flag that flies high overhead.
The U.S.A. is more than just a name, more than just a country. It was founded on the Word of God and done so with dignity and honor. Americans believe in freedom even when their own freedoms get threatened, and they fight back to defend what they know is right. America was a force to be reckoned with at Pearl Harbor, and Hiroshima. It was a force to be reckoned with on September 11, 2001, and again, in Baghdad, fighting the war on terror.
We are more than just buildings that can fall, or lives that can be lost in the rubble. Americans are strong, earnest, and willing to stand up and defend that beautiful flag. After all, we founded the United States out of a desire to worship our God in freedom without Governmental harassment. We founded this country out of love for God, and love of life, and love of freedom.
Sometimes we quickly forget what this country represents, what it was founded on, and why. That is when a tragedy like 9/11 serves to remind us, and help us return more to our roots. It is unlikely that most of us alive on that day will ever forget what happened that calm, sunny, September morning. I hope we never do.
The United States of America is not an evil force that must be stamped out of existence. It is simply a country that loves personal freedoms and is willing to fight for those rights. If we deny the foundation of this country we soon forget the truth and then history is slowly re-written to suit the whims of a certain few who would rather not enjoy the freedoms we hold dear.
America the Beautiful! Those are not just words in a well-written song. They express every American citizen’s deepest love for their home, sweet home. America is beautiful not just because of her trees and lakes, rivers, and beaches, mountains, canyons, valleys and hills, but is beautiful also because of her past, her present and her future hopes, dreams, and deepest desires.
She is America, she is beautiful and she is loved. God Bless America!
