Once upon a time, in a land far far away, the government issued
money to those who sincerely needed financial assistance to help
them make it through their hard times.
Now you look at the welfare/food stamp situation and what do you
see? I'm not sure what you see, but from my own studies that
I've conducted in my area... 9 out of 10 people who collect
from the government do NOT need it.
Go to any grocery store or pharmacy and you'll see it for your-
self. How many times to you go to the store and see an old
couple with a calculator and a few items in their cart and watch
them thumb through the items only to put them back?
How many times have you seen someone with a cart full of food
and BEER, with one child in the cart and two walking behind,
only to see them pay with food stamps or a government issued debit
card? During the winter months their children are wearing shorts
and tank tops, but they make sure they have plenty of beer...
Oh, look, she's in a $30,000 car.
I personally know about this. My cousin, who has three children
and hasn't worked a day in her life collects a nice sum of cash
from the government. She gets over $500 a month from food stamps,
WIC, over $135 a week from child support, plus almost $600 a month
from the government. Her rent is $18 a month, lights and water
included, dresses to the nines and drives a Hum-Vee. Did I mention
she has plenty of cash for beer, cigarettes, and drugs? All the
while, her children don't own a single coat and usually wear
clothes that are too small or too big for them.
All the while our great aunt, who just turned 83 a few months ago,
worked her entire life for a company that right before she retired
went bankrupt taking her retirement with it. 40 years in that
place and nothing, but what she had saved through the years. Now,
she was faced with the fact that she retired and only collects $1,400
a month from social security. Sounds like a decent amount of money
for someone whose house and car are paid for. Try adding in a $120
electric bill, $55 water bill(minimum price to pay), usually around
$300 a month for groceries, gas prices at $3.79 in her area, and
not to mention $900 a month for prescription medicine that she has to
have. What did you figure up? Yeah, she's in the red.
What about Medicare? She has it, but she even has to pay for that
now. Add another $100 to the number you just figured. On top of
that Medicare only covers one of her prescriptions and they don't make
a generic for the others yet.
There's a problem here in America. The government claims that they
have regulations in place for people and how long they collect well-
fare, but I've never seen them once enforce this regulation. Until
they do start to enforce it, we will continue to see a decline in the
economy.
Are you prepared for the worst? Unless everyone speaks up on this,
that's where it's heading.
