Your Acne Meds May Help Fry Your Skin

This is about how some of the meds you are taking for acne are frying up your sun when you go outside. So if you have any of those meds, I suggest you get rid of them fast.

Such zit-zapping medications as tetracycline, doxycycline, and Accutane, which are prescribed to millions of people to combat acne, and antibiotics like Cipro, which are used to treat urinary tract and other common infections, have a little known side effect: they make your skin burn more easily by leaving it more sensitive to UV rays.

Even one skin-frying session increases your cancer. Antidepressants like doxepin and anti- anxiety drugs like Xanax also boost your odds. If you use any any of these meds or meds that contains the same ingredients, its ultracrucial to get into the daily SPF habit, even if you’ll only be outdoors for five minutes.
